The Hoosier Speed Story

Hoosier Speed is a full service open wheel speed shop based out of Bloomington, Indiana- just a stone’s throw away from the legendary Bloomington Speedway. Our story dates back to the early 2000’s, racing lightning sprints under the tutelage of mini-sprint pioneer Allen Ruppenthal of ERC Chassis. Allen has since passed on and we saw a need to support the Midwest Mini Sprint Association and their racers here in Indiana.

Now we build our own cars and sell engines and parts. Hoosier Speed purchased the MMSA in 2014 and have grown the series over the past three seasons. We are proud to unify a national rules package for the lightning sprints and to help negotiate the newly formed USAC National Lightning Sprint Championship.

We are proud to provide quality parts for sprint cars, midgets, lightning sprints, and other forms of open wheel race cars with unparalleled service. The entire team at Hoosier Speed races themselves. As racers, we understand what you need.

Racing is expensive: Our business plan is designed to help save you money.
Racing is time-sensitive: Get the parts you need when you need them.

We are excited to offer our fellow competitors quality parts and competitive prices. In addition to our stock items, we frequently have quality used parts for sale- in case you need to get out of a jam but are looking after your budget. Whatever it takes to help you get to the track- we are here to help you.
